Breanna Barbara
Hailing from Minnesota and currently residing in Brooklyn, Breanna Barbara is a songwriter who makes resonant occult blues with lo fi roots. After writing songs, performing at various bars and house shows, and traveling, she ended up in New York to attend Circle in the Square Theater School for acting. She would continue to write songs and self release them through her bandcamp account. Those two albums- Theoria & Baby Where You Are were recorded on her iPhone and would eventually get her booked for shows throughout the city.

In 2014 she sent her demos to Andrija Tokic of the Bomb Shelter in Nashville, TN who later would invite her to make a record there. That record, ‘Mirage Dreams’, was released this past July.
Old Lady
Dances is a psychedelic pop trio from Brooklyn, NY. They recently recorded at Strange Weather with producer Daniel Schlett (DIIV, Here We Go Magic) and plan to release their new material by the end of the year.
Junk Boys
Is blues the music of the Devil? The minor third note interval that’s the basic ingredient of anything bluesy is famous for conveying a sad feeling, not evil, but – at least according to Wikipedia – “the word [blues] may have come from the term blue devils,” and “depending on the religious community a musician belonged to, it was more or less considered as a sin to play this low-down music.” W guess that simple fact made the genre very attractive to young rebels… who ended up moving to the more liberal US coasts…
Brooklyn’s Junk Boys, an obscure band we stumbled upon almost randomly, seems to accept and even promote this notion. Their debut single “Call On Me” (streaming) features a devilish cover art, and an apocaliptic sound at least in part reminiscent of a hammondless and heavier version of The Doors, another band that enjoyed blue references to Beelzebub.-The Deli
