C Gibbs
C. Gibbs has released over 13 albums under monikers such as C. Gibbs, Lucinda Black Bear, Motherwell Johnston, Morning Glories and others. Rolling Stone has called him “The Country Brother of Tom Waits” and Billboard said “rarely do you hear songs that are this deep, this profound.” This show celebrates the 20th year Anniversary of his debut record “Sincerity’s Ground.” All the same original members are playing this show. Gibbs made the record in 1996 with his post-punk rock trio band members from Morning Glories (Pierre De Gaillande and Kenny Savelson) and had other friends contribute to it.. To his surprise (and others) their live shows in the 90’s at Mercury Lounge, CBGB’s, and Luna Lounge led him to be signed to Atlantic within weeks of Sincerity’s Ground release. He didn’t even call back the Atlantic A & R guy thinking it was a hoax. A bidding war ensued between MCA and Atlantic. Then off to LA for fast cars, women, and numerous trips to rehabs. The rest is a not very original tale of debauchery and rags to riches to rags again. Presently Gibbs still releases music under the name C. Gibbs and relishes the extraordinary leniency that 20 years of obscurity have afforded him allowing him to make music however he wants, and whenever he wants, if he even wants to. Sincerity’s Ground is out of print and so old that it isn’t even on the internet for consumption in mp3 format. March 13th is the only way you can hear it. Good friends Bay Uno and Guiding Light will be joining the bill.
Bay Uno
From New York City, Bay Uno is an indie folk adventure; style can be compared to Sufjan Stevens, Iron and Wine, Bright Eyes, M Ward, Patrick Watson, Bon Iver, Elliot Smith, Phosphorescent etc..

A debut full length record is coming very very soon. Stay tuned!
Guiding Light
Musician Jason Sebastian Russo (Mercury Rev, Hopewell, Common Prayer, Kevin Devine) and filmmaker Tara Autovino (Ultimate Christian Wrestling, for a swim with the fish) are Guiding Light. The songs are more rock than Common Prayer but rock in a very different way than Hopewell or Mercury Rev. Think minimalist over maximalist production. A focus on vibe rather than elaborate technique. Lead vocal duties will be shared by Tara and Jason.

Guiding Light is the name of an American soap opera, popular in the 1980’s, which may or may not have had a character named Tara, after whom Mrs. Autovino may or may not have named her daughter.
