Pavo Pavo
Pavo Pavo
Pavo Pavo is an experimental pop band from Brooklyn, NY. Their debut record, Young Narrator in the Breakers, will be released in 2015. The band started writing together while studying music at Yale, and since then its five members have worked closely with indie and classical heavyweights such as Here We Go Magic, Roomful of Teeth, Dave Longstreth, and San Fermin. Stereogum describes their music as “weightless pop that sounds like it was beamed down from a utopian future”

Young Narrator in the Breakers walks through its songs with symphonic elegance – guitar stabs, washed out harmonies, and rumbling synthesizers come and go like guests at a party. The record describes the magic and panic of adult life; a breaker is a wave whose potential energy is being transformed into turbulent kinetic energy. Co-produced by Danny Molad (Lucius) and Sam Cohen (Yellowbirds), it is a romantic record in the tradition of Elephant 6, and a cohesive record in the tradition of Grizzly Bear. It’s our pleasure to introduce: Pavo Pavo.
Wilder Maker
Wilder Maker
Urban pastorals unfold in the music of Gabriel Birnbaum, the multi-instrumentalist, singer and writer behind the songs of Brooklyn’s Wilder Maker. Wilder Maker’s songs keenly observe landscapes of desire and abandon, filled with colorful characters and street revelations, in a musical setting as boldly diverse as their NYC home base. Birnbaum’s songs find expression through longtime collaborators Katie Von Schleicher, who releases her own mesmerizing solo work, on keyboards and vocals; Sean Mullins (Kevin Garrett) on drums; and Nick Jost (Baroness) on bass.
BUCK MEEK
BUCK MEEK
Buck Meek’s songs are for the lost dogs of honest mechanics, good guys born into a life of crime, runaways, snow spirits, the ghosts of Central Park, line cooks, unsung diving board stars, the affection shared through gambling, ancient love, etc. Bred in Texas, more bread in New York City, he spins outlaw ballads and grunge into a yarn, with Adam Brisbin on guitar (Jolie Holland, Sam Evian), Mat Davidson on bass (Twain, The Low Anthem, Spirit Family Reunion), and Austin Vaughn on drums (Here We Go Magic, Luke Temple, Sam Evian).

Buck will release his first full length record later this year. His previous releases include the 2013 ep Live from a Volcano, 2015 ep Heart Was Beat, and two 2014 duo ep’s with Adrianne Lenker, a-sides and b-sides. He is also a founding member and lead guitarist of Big Thief.
